We have ongoing evaluation studies in Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Kenya, and Mexico. For each measurement wave, a team of two research assistants collects data on-site over a period of 10 to 12 weeks.

The tasks involve:

  • recruiting students for participating in the training group and control group
  • managing the data collection process
  • following-up via telephone and personal communication on former STEP students and students of the control group
  • collecting data through questionnaires and interviews
  • documentation and data entry of the collected data
  • documenting through case studies the success of STEP students

To join the team, you need to:

  • be fluent in English (for African countries) or Spanish (for Latin American countries)
  • have cultural sensitivity awareness
  • be competent and confident in foreign environments
  • show very high personal initiative in executing the tasks
  • be comfortable with situations that require a very high degree of flexibility
  • be creative in generating alternative options and plan B’s
  • have a very high sense of responsibility
  • have very high skills in managing and organizing
  • be highly persistent

If you are interested in becoming part of the STEP team, we are currently looking for research assistants for the post-evaluations in Kenya (mid of May) and Uganda (end of May/beginning of June 2018).

We are now also looking for research assistants for the pre- and post evaluations in Mexico and Nigeria (starting August and September).
